The Thalassemia Patients Friends’ Society has trained a number of patient intellectuals on the pre-marital Al-Mashora Program, which is part of Ashraf Hameed's Program for awareness and special education for young couples about to get married. The program aims to impact the quality of life and establish healthy families with proper mental well-being.
This training is supported by the World Health Organization for Population in collaboration with the Juzoor Foundation. The training was conducted through the Fanar Center for Mental Health under the supervision of specialist Nisreen Bisharat.
It is worth mentioning that the educated individuals who are patients have started organizing meetings at Palestinian universities discussing the importance of pre-marital medical examination and promoting the idea of pre-marital counselling, given its significance in protecting the Palestinian community from new cases of thalassemia births.
